Privacy Policy

Your data, your judgment. We encrypt your data in transit and at rest on our servers, and we never sell it; on-device data is protected by your phone's app sandbox. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you have.

What we collect

  • Account: your email and (optional) name when you sign up.
  • Body profile: goal, age, height, weight, training days, dietary preferences, equipment, and any injuries you choose to share.
  • Activity: workouts you start or complete, meals you log or scan, weight and measurement entries, and your subscription state.
  • Apple Health (iOS, optional): steps, active & resting energy, heart rate, resting heart rate, heart-rate variability, VO₂ max, blood oxygen, respiratory rate, body & wrist temperature, sleep, body weight, and — if you track them in an app that syncs to Health — menstrual cycle markers. Read only after you grant permission in the iOS prompt, and used to tune your daily targets, recovery insights, and AI coaching.
  • Health Connect (Android, optional): steps, active & total energy, heart rate, resting heart rate, heart-rate variability, VO₂ max, blood oxygen, respiratory rate, body temperature, sleep stages, and body weight. Read only after you grant permission in Health Connect, and used to tune your daily targets, recovery insights, and AI coaching. With your permission we also write your logged weight and completed workouts back to Health Connect so your other apps stay in sync. We never use Health Connect data for advertising and never share it with data brokers.
  • Diagnostics: crash reports (via Sentry) and product-usage events (via PostHog), tied to your account so we can debug your issues. Both can be turned off any time in Settings.

What we don't collect

  • We don't sell your data to advertisers, ever.
  • We don't track you across other apps or websites.
  • We don't access your contacts, location, or microphone.
  • We never sell your Apple Health or Health Connect data or use it for advertising, and we never share it with data brokers. (One exception: recovery signals like sleep and heart-rate variability are sent to our AI provider to generate your coaching — see "AI processing" below.)

How we use what we collect

We use your profile and activity to generate your personalised training and nutrition plans, track your progress, and improve the app. Diagnostics help us find crashes and broken flows so we can fix them.

AI processing

When you scan a meal, log food by text, run a body or form analysis, or chat with the AI coach, the relevant content — your meal/body photos, the text you enter, basic profile stats (age, sex, height, weight, goals), and recovery signals derived from Apple Health or Health Connect (such as sleep, heart-rate variability, resting heart rate, and training-readiness) — is sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) to generate your result or coaching reply. It is processed only to return your result, is not used to train their models, and is never used for advertising. We never send your name, your medication names, or your contact details.

Who processes your data

  • Supabase — your account and content (hosted Postgres), encrypted at rest and in transit.
  • Sentry & PostHog — diagnostics and usage analytics, under our organisation.
  • RevenueCat and the Apple App Store — subscription state and billing.
  • OpenAI — AI analysis requests, as described above.

Data retention & your rights

You can export or delete your account at any time from Settings → Help & legal → Delete account. Deletion removes all rows we hold for you immediately and is irreversible. We keep your data only as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the EU/UK GDPR or California's CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, restrict, or delete your personal data, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You can exercise these in-app (in Settings) or by emailing us, and we will respond within the time your law requires. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioural advertising. Where we rely on a legal basis under the GDPR, it is your consent, performance of our contract with you, or our legitimate interest in running and improving the app.

Security

We protect your data with encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard your information and to notify you of any breach as required by law.

International transfers

Our providers (including Supabase, Sentry, PostHog, RevenueCat, and OpenAI) may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses to protect your data when it is transferred.

Legal disclosures

We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or a valid legal request, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users, the public, or Morpho.

Children

Morpho is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

Not medical advice

Morpho is a fitness, nutrition, habit, and education app. We do not diagnose, treat, prescribe medication, or provide medical advice. Speak with a licensed clinician before making health decisions.

Changes

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes are announced in-app, and the "last updated" date above will change.
